The close of the year marked the end of an era here at Schlange, Zamostny & Co. (S&Z). Co-founder and Managing Director Joachim Schlange has retired after more than 17 years with the company. Mr. Schlange founded the firm in the fall of 2006 together with Andreas Zamostny and Jakobine Sauerbruch (who left the company in 2009). Back then, the term “sustainability” was still a foreign concept for many – and the market for such consulting services was very limited. With his consulting expertise and extensive network, Joachim Schlange quickly helped to make S&Z one of the most renowned names in sustainability consulting in Germany, the U.S. and internationally.
Through more than 740 projects worldwide, S&Z has advanced sustainability management and reporting for over 220 clients across Germany, Europe, and the U.S. We’re proud of our success but know that much work lies ahead. We will continue supporting companies and other organizations on their sustainability journeys with tried-and-tested solutions, high quality standards and a wealth of experience – be it in fulfilling supply chain due diligence obligations, developing a climate strategy or CSRD-compliant reporting.
“S&Z is in an excellent position – and Joachim Schlange has made a significant contribution,” says Andreas Zamostny, who, with the support of the management team in Hamburg and New York, has now been running the company alone since the beginning of the year.“We would like to thank Joachim for his contributions and wish him all the best for the beautiful things that life has to offer besides consulting. We will develop S&Z further and ensure that the company remains a leader in sustainability consulting in the future. Joachim will continue to contribute his expertise to the company and work as a Senior Advisor on select projects.”
